Charm Physics at CDF
The study of the charm quark continues to have wide interest as a possible
avenue for the discovery of physics beyond the Standard Model and can as well
be used as a tool for understanding the non-perturbative aspects of the strong
interactions. Owning to the large production cross-section available at the
Tevatron collider and to the flexibility of a trigger on fully hadronic final
states, the CDF experiment, in a decade of successful operations, collected
millions of charmed mesons decays which can be used to investigate the details
of the physics of the production and decay processes of the charm quark. Here
we present a brief collection of new CDF results on this subject.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures, 1 table. Contribution to the proceedings for the

Charm mixing at LHCb
We report a measurement of the time-dependent ratio of to
decay rates in -tagged events using 1.0\,fb of
integrated luminosity recorded by the LHCb experiment. We measure the mixing
parameters , and
the ratio of doubly-Cabibbo-suppressed to Cabibbo-favored decay rates
. The result excludes the no-mixing hypothesis
with a probability corresponding to 9.1 standard deviations and represents the
first observation of charm mixing from a single measurementComment: 5 pages, 6 figures, 2 tables. Proceedings of HCP 201
Phenomenological and Experimental Developments in Charm Physics: The WG7 Report from CKM 2016
We present an overview of recent developments in charm physics reported in
the Working~Group~7 meetings of the CKM 2016 workshop. Progresses in
experimental analysis and techniques were reported by LHCb, Belle, BABAR and
BESIII along with projections for the future. Developments were also reported
in the phenomenological extraction of both direct and indirect CP violation
from data in two-, three- and four-body hadronic decays of the mesonic
system.Comment: 12 pages. WG7 report for CKM 2016. PoS(CKM2016)02
CP violation in charm decays at CDF
Exploiting the full Run II data sample collected by the CDF trigger on displaced vertices, we present a search for CP violation in neutral D mesons decays to hadronic final states. We use the strong Dâ+ â D0Ï+ (and c.c.) decay to identify the flavor of the charmed meson at production time and exploit CPconserving strong cÂŻc pair-production in pÂŻp collisions. The results are the worldâs most precise measurements to date and confirm the presence of sizable CP-violating effects in the charm sector as recently observed by the LHCb collaboration
Charm physics at LHCb
An overview of the latest LHCbâs measurements in the charm physics sector is presented. This includes searches for rare decays, measurements of direct and indirect CP-violating observables and precise determination of mixing parameters using âwrong-signâ D0 â K+Ïâ decays
Testing for new physics in singly Cabibbo suppressed D decays
We devise tests for a new physics origin of the recently measured direct CP
violation in singly Cabibbo suppressed D decays. The tests take the form of sum
rules for the CP asymmetries in various D decays. They are based on the fact
that within the standard model CP violation arises from interference of the
dominant tree amplitudes with the Delta I=1/2 penguin amplitudes. The sum rules
would be violated if the observed CP violation is due to new physics
contributions to the effective weak Hamiltonian that change isospin by Delta
I=3/2.Comment: 6 page
Trade Credit as a Sustainable Resource during an SMEâs Life Cycle
Inadequate access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can present a major impediment to SMEsâ contribution towards driving sustainable economic growth. The aim of this article is to investigate the role of life cycle on SME financing decisions while focusing on trade credit. To this end, we study whether trade credit and its firm-factor determinants differ depending on the stage of life cycle of the SMEs. For the empirical analysis, a sample is employed of manufacturing SMEs operating in 12 European Union countries over the period 2008â2014 and a panel data model with fixed effects is applied. We find that the business life cycle influences trade credit and that this influence is stronger in young firms, although this relation is non-linear across the firmsâ life cycle. We further show that the impact of firm-factor determinants on trade credit differs across the business life cycle in terms of magnitude levels. Our results demonstrate that the business life cycle matters when analysing trade credit, and it should therefore be considered when managers and policymakers strive to solve the financial problems of an SME and to consequently incorporate the SME into the sustainable economy.
Measurement of CPâViolating Asymmetries in the D0âÏ+Ïâ and D0âK+Kâ Decays at CDF
We report a search for nonâStandard Model physics through the measurement of CPâviolating asymmetries in the singlyâCabibboâsuppressed D0âÏ+Ïâ and D0âK+Kâ decays reconstructed in about 5.9/fb of CDF data. We use the strong D*+âD0Ï+ decay (âD* tagâ) to identify the flavor of the charmed meson at production time and exploit CPâconserving strong c-cbar pairâproduction in p-pbar collisions. Large samples of Cabibboâfavored D0âKâÏ+ decays with and without D* tag are used to highly suppress systematic uncertainties due to detector effects. The results are the worldâs most precise measurements to date and have been published by Physical Review D in January 2012
Searching for New Physics through charm at CDF
We report a search for non-Standard Model physics through the measurement of
CP-violating asymmetry in the Cabibbo suppressed D0->pi+pi- and D0->K+K- decays
reconstructed in about 5.94/fb of CDF data. We use the strong D*+->D0pi+ decay
("D* tag") to identify the flavor of the charmed meson at production time and
exploit CP-conserving strong c-cbar pair-production in p-pbar collisions. Large
samples of Cabibbo favored D0->K-pi+ decays with and without D* tag are used to
highly suppress systematic uncertainties due to detector effects. The results
are the world's most precise measurements to date.Comment: 7 pages, 14 figures, 1 table. Proceedings for BEAUTY 201
